IFMSA-Egypt is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political student-run organization founded in 1969. It represents more than 80,000 medical students through 31 Local Committees across Egypt, including Zagazig.
Through IFMSA-Egypt Exchange, Egyptian medical students can participate in international clinical and research clerkships through the IFMSA network. IFMSA-Egypt participates in both Professional Exchange (SCOPE) and Research Exchange (SCORE) programs.

SCOPE is IFMSA's clinical exchange program — one of the largest student-run exchange programs in the world, with thousands of students participating annually. Students gain direct exposure to clinical care in foreign hospitals, interact with patients and physicians from different cultures, and return home with a fundamentally enriched medical perspective. ZMSSA Exchange facilitates both outgoing rotations abroad and incoming clinical students to Zagazig University hospitals.

Students begin by submitting their application through the official registration form announced by the Exchange Team.
Applicants are informed of the scheduled date for the selection process, including the written exam and personal interview.
All candidates are evaluated based on their performance. A ranked list of top students is then officially announced.
Selected students are invited to a meeting where exchange contracts are distributed starting from the highest-ranked student until all available contracts are allocated.
Students confirm their participation by signing the exchange contract and completing the required administrative procedures.
Participants attend mandatory Pre-Departure Training sessions to prepare academically, culturally, and logistically for their exchange.
Students receive the official Invitation Letter and Card of Acceptance from the host country to proceed with formal preparations.
Students apply for their visa using the provided documents and complete all embassy requirements.
Students travel to the host country and complete their clinical or research exchange program.
After returning, students finalize their exchange by obtaining and signing their certificate with the Local Exchange Officer (LEO).
Applications for professional exchange follow this annual cycle. Exact dates are confirmed each year by the ZMSSA Exchange Officer.
Students typically receive their Acceptance and Card of Acceptance (CoA) at least two months prior to their desired exchange period. Timelines may vary depending on the host country and bilateral agreements.
